Mater Filius

Mater Filius Colorado Springs is a nonprofit, Catholic apostolate committed to helping women of all backgrounds facing an unexpected pregnancy who need housing or other support. We offer a tranquil home, assistance with healthcare appointments, transportation, spiritual care, nutritious meals, child enrichment, and a path to independence.

What We Offer

Housing — A private room in a safe, tranquil home for moms and their children. Pregnant teenagers and women with children under five are welcome. We believe in keeping families together.

Transportation — We transport moms to doctor’s appointments, job, school, and other activities related to her path forward.

Education — We help moms continue education, enroll in GED classes, or attend college, and assist with scholarship opportunities.

Basic Life Skills — We teach home organization, nutritious meal planning, financial management, parenting, and other life skills.

Job Assistance — We help moms prepare a résumé, apply for jobs, and connect with community employment resources.

Child Enrichment — A Christian child enrichment program for children 6 weeks through 3 years, at no cost to residents and graduates.

Graduate Support — After moms leave Mater Filius, a staff member stays in regular contact to assist with any of life’s emergencies.
